Overcome - that's how we roll!

We wake up in the morning, feeling the aches and pains of a tired and sick body.

We go to the bank and they have a problem: The ATM says “insufficient funds”

The children refuse to get out of bed and go to school.

The boss mumbles something that is supposed to mean “good morning”

But we don’t care, `cause:

1Jn 5:3 For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments, and His commandments are not burdensome. 4 For everything that has been born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that overcomes the world, our faith. 5 Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?

We believe! We believe that we have a ‘Savior’, we have a ‘Prince of Peace’, and we have an “Advocate’.

Psa 31:2 Bow down Your ear to me; deliver me quickly; be my strong rock, a fortress to save me. 3 For You are my rock and my fortress; and for Your name's sake lead me and guide me. 4 Bring me out of the net that they hid for me, for You are my strength.

He has promised to never leave me alone. He has promised to walk with me through the scary places, in times of trouble and when I need a friend.

1Jn 5:13 I have written these things to you who believe on the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have everlasting life, and that you may believe on the name of the Son of God. 14 And this is the confidence that we have toward Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. 15 And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of Him.

When I am weak – He is strong on my behalf. When I feel like giving up – He encourages me to continue – He lifts me up and carries me when my legs give way.

His mercies are new every morning.

Winston Churchill during a famous speech told the audience of young boys “never, never, never give up”.

That’s how I roll.

I will never give up because my Savior did not surrender to the cross. No, He conquered death so that you and I may live.

He has made the way for you and I to live victoriously amongst the worst conditions a man or woman can ever experience.

No Tsunami, no earthquake, no court order, no doctor’s report, no nothing, can take that away.

Once the truth of His victory on my behalf, settles in my heart, nothing can ever again, take a hold of me.

His love, His strength, His courage, His compassion, His provision, His commitment, His wisdom and His guidance has convinced me.

Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?

That’s me and that’s you. We believe and therefore we overcome!
