Dancing after the tears

Psa 30:4 All you saints! Sing your hearts out to GOD! Thank him to his face! 5 He gets angry once in a while, but across a lifetime there is only love. The nights of crying your eyes out give way to days of laughter. 6 When things were going great I crowed, "I've got it made. 7 I'm GOD's favorite. He made me king of the mountain." Then you looked the other way and I fell to pieces. 8 I called out to you, GOD; I laid my case before you: 9 "Can you sell me for a profit when I'm dead? auction me off at a cemetery yard sale? When I'm 'dust to dust' my songs and stories of you won't sell. 10 So listen! and be kind! Help me out of this!" 11 You did it: you changed wild lament into whirling dance; You ripped off my black mourning band and decked me with wildflowers. 12 I'm about to burst with song; I can't keep quiet about you. GOD, my God, I can't thank you enough.

If we did not have the hope, that after the shedding of so many tears, there would be the dance of joy, what would be the use of it all?

No matter the challenge, the hardship the rejection, the betrayal, the loss: our hope will and should always be: in Him!

David lost a child, he was caught out in adultery and he wept bitterly, he suffered the emotions that come with the loss of a child, but he knew. Oh he knew, that his mourning, his lamenting would turn into dance.

On a daily basis, we face all sorts of challenges: no income due to retrenchment, the loss of a loved one through some tragedy, the court orders and the repossession of hard earned valuables. Yet our hope, our determined hope, remains steadfastly in Him. The One who cried out on the cross “it is finished” The work has been done.

Joh 10:10 A thief is only there to steal and kill and destroy. I came so they can have real and eternal life, more and better life than they ever dreamed of. 11 "I am the Good Shepherd. The Good Shepherd puts the sheep before himself, sacrifices himself if necessary.

My life is not my own. By choice, I handed it back to Him and said: “Lord, as you will”

Because it’s no longer my own, and because I do not control the universe around me, I have to trust. I have to trust that the outcome will be according to His plan and His will for my life.

I have to believe that, even in the darkest hour, late at night, when tears run onto the pillowcase, that He is there. He is there, gently, silently, lovingly, taking care of business.

My job is to pursue Him and everything He has to offer.

Jam 4:7 Therefore submit yourselves to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. 8 Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, sinners; and purify your hearts, double-minded ones. 9 Be afflicted, and mourn and weep. Let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to heaviness. 10 Be humbled before the Lord, and He will lift you up.

When the night seems to long, just think about all the previous dark nights. After every dark night, the sun broke through.

His Grace, has always been enough, He was and will always be there, to encourage and to strengthen. Even when we face the valley of the shadow of death, He will be there.

Seasons may come and go, times may change, but God will never change.

He will always be the Father, who encourages, we strengthens and delivers.

Just trust!

And when we decide to trust, unwaveringly trust, the tears and the mourning will make way for dancing and singing.

Psa 103:1 Of David. Give praise to the Lord, O my soul; let everything in me give praise to his holy name. 2 Give praise to the Lord, O my soul; let not all his blessings go from your memory. 3 He has forgiveness for all your sins; he takes away all your diseases; 4 He keeps back your life from destruction, crowning you with mercy and grace. 5 He makes your mouth full of good things, so that your strength is made new again like the eagle's.
