Joh 1:16 Out of the fullness of his grace he has blessed us all, giving us one blessing after another. 17 God gave the Law through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. 18 No one has ever seen God. The only Son, who is the same as God and is at the Father's side, he has made him known.
Oftentimes people will approach me with this prayer request: “Pastor, please pray for me so that I may get to know God better”.
Such an innocent but yet desperate request at most.
The problem is, I can pray that God may reveal Himself to you and in your life, but to get to know Him, really know Him; it is going to take the establishing of a relationship.
Then I get asked, “How do I establish a relationship with God?”
“No one has ever seen God. The only Son, who is the same as God and is at the Father's side, he has made him known.”
Through Jesus Christ.
He has come so that we may know the Father.
No more legal systems to follow, no more rules and religious statements to adhere to, no more man-made stuff to interfere.
Just a deep and intimate relationship with His Son.
No longer the payment of penance, because Grace and Truth has set me free.
The most amazing thing about this is that: He came, to find you and me. We did not have to embark on some journey to the top of some mountain to find Him, we did not have to embark on a quest of cleansing and finding deep spiritual righteousness.
No! He came to find us, right where we are.
I did not have to pay a fee or say some ritualistic prayer forty times or dip myself in some dirty river.
No! I turned around and there He was, open arms, waiting for me to invite Him in.
And when He entered He “Out of the fullness of his grace he has blessed us all, giving us one blessing after another”.
Why don’t you just do that today?
Why don’t you just say: “Jesus, enter my life, I want to experience the Father’s love, through the blessings of Grace and Truth and Mercy, that you have brought me”.
That’s it!
Grace and Truth has come.
Rom 5:17 It is true that through the sin of one man death began to rule because of that one man. But how much greater is the result of what was done by the one man, Jesus Christ! All who receive God's abundant grace and are freely put right with him will rule in life through Christ.
