How do I?
Oftentimes I ask myself the question; how can I change? How can I do things differently? How can I attain fullness in my life?
And I ask these questions because, sometimes I doubt. I doubt myself, I doubt the decisions I’ve made. Sometimes it feels as if there must be more to life, than just the experience I am living.
Why does it sometimes feel as if success is just `out of reach` or `the answer is on the tip of my tongue` but yet it feels so out of reach.
The answer to all of these? Wisdom. Godly wisdom.
Pro 3:1 Good friend, don't forget all I've taught you; take to heart my commands. 2 They'll help you live a long, long time, a long life lived full and well. 3 Don't lose your grip on Love and Loyalty. Tie them around your neck; carve their initials on your heart.
Do not forget the Word and the Wisdom it contains. Do not forget the direction and the path contained in it. Apply it, make it part of your character, live it, walk in it and the promise contained in it, becomes yours.
Pro 3:5 Trust GOD from the bottom of your heart; don't try to figure out everything on your own. 6 Listen for GOD's voice in everything you do, everywhere you go; he's the one who will keep you on track. 7 Don't assume that you know it all. Run to GOD! Run from evil!
We need to `get over ourselves`. Stop this notion that “I know best” Put away trust in the things of this world and refocus on God. After all, He is God, the creator, the one who: “Pro 3:19 Jehovah has founded the earth by wisdom; by understanding He has founded the heavens. 20 By His knowledge the depths are broken up, and the clouds drop down the dew.”
He retains in and all wisdom and knowledge.
When I experience lack, when the `barns` are empty:
Pro 3:9 Honor Jehovah with your substance, and with the firstfruits of all your increase;
and your barns shall be filled with plenty, and your presses shall burst with new wine.
Perhaps the key then is not to wait till the barns are empty and the lack sets into my househould. Perhaps I need to pre-empt and honor God with my offerings and my tithes, long before. Gathering an investment long before I nee to make a withdrawal.
Pro 3:27 Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in the power of your hand to do it. 28 Do not say to your neighbor, Go and come back again, and tomorrow I will give; when you have it beside you:
Jesus tells us, no, He teaches, that we should do unto others as we would like for them to do unto us.
In my hour of need, I cry out to God, I look to those around me who flourish and I wonder, when will they see my need and respond?
But. When I had more than enough and I saw the need around me, what did I do? Did I walk away thinking:”Hey buddy, maybe you need to exercise a little more faith”. Never even once thinking “ - “I have enough, let me help you” just because I can, not expecting anything in return. Helping another just because it is the right thing to do.
It’s nice to invite people for supper or take friends to a restaurant, knowing that soon they will return the favor. What about inviting the guy and his family, who haven’t seen the inside of a restaurant in ages, because life for them is just plain to tuff right now? Doing this knowing that they will possibly never be able to invite you in turn.
How can I change? How can I become a better person? By applying the Word, by living it. That’s it!
Pro 3:35 The wise shall inherit glory; but shame shall be the promotion of fools.
