Psa 4:3 Remember that the LORD has chosen the righteous for his own, and he hears me when I call to him.
To be `chosen`: to be distinct, marked out, be separated, be distinguished, to be distinct, be separated, be distinguished, to be wonderful, to make separate, set apart.
How amazing is that thought?
The thought that, the Creator of everything, has chosen us, the believers, for His own. We have been, marked out, set aside with distinction, for His pleasure and purpose.
How can we continue? Living ass if the world owes us something? How can we continue in this time and place, to live as victims, instead of being victorious?
As someone who has been set aside, wonderfully made, with His mark, I cannot do anything other, than live as a conqueror.
Of course challenges and obstacles will still clutter my path. Of course people will continue to disappoint and reject and hurt me. Of course my finances might run out long before the month has run out.
However………
However, my God …….!
Psa 4:2 How long will you people insult me? How long will you love what is worthless and go after what is false? 3 Remember that the LORD has chosen the righteous for his own, and he hears me when I call to him.
I know that I know, I am one of the chosen.
I can say this with conviction; because I have a Lord and a Saviour, the One whose Name is an above all name. When His name is mentioned, all of heaven listens attentively.
In Him I have been made righteous. In Him is my salvation. In Him lies my inheritance; In Him I am more than a conqueror.
I have traded my yoke and accepted His yoke, which is light. I have given Him my burdens and He takes care.
I can make clear decisions because I have Him as my guide. He has given me the Teacher, the Comforter and a friend. In Him I have a friend that walks closer than a brother.
His name is Jesus!
Psa 4:6 There are many who pray: "Give us more blessings, O LORD. Look on us with kindness!" 7 But the joy that you have given me is more than they will ever have with all their grain and wine. 8 When I lie down, I go to sleep in peace; you alone, O LORD, keep me perfectly safe.
I have peace. The peace of someone, who has been chosen. He keeps me perfectly safe.
